RMC’s 138-bed acute-care hospital offers an extensive range of in-patient and out-patient services and leading-edge technology. Rockdale Medical Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, which evaluates hospital patient care for quality, safety and value.

Hospital Profile

Located in the heart of Conyers, RMC is a 138-bed, acute care facility that provides medical services to the people of Rockdale County and surrounding areas. A healthcare leader in the community, the hospital offers a host of services including: emergency medicine, endocrinology, general and interventional cardiology, family medicine, general surgery, hematology/oncology, hospital medicine (hospitalist), internal medicine, neonatology, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, vascular surgery, wound care, and many additional medical specialties.

RMC is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care Chest Pain Center, and the Primary Stroke Center Accredited by The Joint Commission. We are proud to offer patients access to state-of-the-art technology including: diagnostic imaging, Da Vinci robotic surgery, a wound healing center with hyperbaric oxygen medicine and numerous cardiovascular services.

Since 1845, Conyers has been a hub of commerce and now reflects many nationalities, races and religions. Most of all, the community reflects an amazing legacy of progress, involvement and society where everyone has contributed and everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Located just east of Atlanta, Conyers is perfectly positioned to have quick access to major interstate highways and the busiest airport in the world. It offers many opportunities for recreation and relaxation, including the Georgia International Horse Park, many city and county recreational facilities and the Monastery of the Holy Spirit. The Rockdale County Public School System has partnered with the Georgia University System and the Technical College System of Georgia to provide advanced education opportunities to meet the technological demands of tomorrow.

The combination of state and local work for development initiatives has attracted not only manufacturing and distribution companies, but also has attracted major feature film and television production companies that are taking advantage of Georgia’s Film Incentives. Warner Brothers’ Bonanza Productions and Twentieth Century Fox Television maintain production offices in Conyers for hit TV shows “The Originals” and “Sleepy Hollow”, both in their 4th season of filming.

Recreation

The Georgia International Horse Park served as the home of the 1996 Olympic Games first ever mountain biking competition, as well as equestrian and modern pentathlon events. Its 1,400 acres are available for equestrian competitions, festivals, concerts, family events, trail riding, outdoor recreation and sports competitions. Discover the natural beauty and challenge of the Arnold Palmer-designed Cherokee Run Golf Club. Located within the Georgia International Horse Park, Cherokee Run is open year round.

The 19 city and county parks offer many opportunities for youth and adult recreational sports. The Rockdale River Trail offers 13 miles of walkways and bike paths covering 7,000 acres of green space in the community. The Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial at Black Shoals Park and Panola Mountain State Park offer beautiful, inspiring walking trails. Rockdale’s state-of-the-art tennis facility offers lessons and leagues for all levels of play.

The Monastery of The Holy Spirit is a Roman Catholic monastery belonging to the world-wide Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance. Celebrating over 70 years in Rockdale County, the Monastery of the Holy Spirit welcomes visitors to the Monastic Heritage Center and Museum, the bonsai garden center, bakery, stained glass studio and abbey store.

Visit Olde Town Conyers for one-of-a-kind shopping, dining or a stroll through the Lewis Vaughn Botanical Garden. Many homes and buildings in Olde Town are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since Conyers developed as a train station, the Depot remains in Olde Town as the most historic site. The Depot, along with the Old Jail, and the "Dinky", a 1905 Rogers steam locomotive of which there were only three such locomotives of its type in the world, are maintained by The Rockdale Historical Society.
